The Gayathri Maha Mantra has been revered by all saints and sages over centuries that cures all illnesses and leads one to be confident, self-sufficient and happy. Bhagawan has emphasised that the Gayathri Mantra must be taken up by all for welfare of the world.
The Gayathri Sadhana begins in January of each year, where all interested people collectively complete the chanting of 6 million Gayathri mantra, concluding with a yagna between April and May.

The chanting of Gayathri Mantra has been emphasised for many centuries as a prayer directed to the Supreme Being for enlightenment. It is seen as a Divine awakening of the individual mind and soul (or Atman), and thereby attaining collective consciousness (or Brahman).
The ancient Hindu scriptures describe how Sage Vishwamitra was given the Gayathri Mantra by the Supreme Being as a reward for his many years of deep penance and mediation. This was to be a gift for all humanity. It is for this reason that Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba emphasised the potency of this Mantra and incorporated Gayathri as core curriculum in Sathya Sai Education in Human & moral values for children.
The Sri Sathya Sai Vedic Society, Singapore (SSSVSS) conducted its first Gayathri Yagna at SunLove Home in 2012, as a dedication to our spiritual master Sri Sathya Sai Baba who demised a year earlier. Following our master’s teachings, this Yagna breaks all traditional barriers of gender, race, caste and religion, bringing about the true sense of Gayathri as per the Vedas, in the hope of bringing about Universal Love and Harmony over time. Over the years, the Gayathri Maha Yagna has evolved from a humble beginning of 12 to 300 participants, with individual commitment to purify and prepare for the event by chanting and contemplating on the Gayathri Mantra over 70+ days.
